Honoree Criteria

Law Enforcement Leader of the Year


  • The honoree must have demonstrated strong leadership skills in the relevant year, and a sustained commitment to the goals and mission of law enforcement.
  • The honoree must exude the highest level of integrity and honor for the law enforcement profession.
  • The honoree will have carried out their duties and advocacy for the law enforcement profession and public safety in a nonpartisan manner.
  • The honoree’s actions and words served as a catalyst for unity and respect for the rule of law.
  • The honoree demonstrated an understanding that officer safety and public safety are intertwined and is committed to honoring the ultimate sacrifice of our law enforcement fallen heroes.
  • The honoree must have been employed in the law enforcement profession or as an executive in an organization whose mission is to support law enforcement.

Law Enforcement Patriot of the Year


  • The honoree is not currently employed in the law enforcement profession but has demonstrated support for the core values of the law enforcement mission.
  • The honoree respects and honors the service and sacrifice of our nations’ law enforcement fallen heroes.
  • The honoree has represented themselves with dignity and honor during public facing events and communications and has distinguished themselves as a thought-based leader.
  • The honoree has served as a proponent for unity while demonstrating their unwavering respect for both the spirit and text of the United States Constitution.
  • The honoree has demonstrated their support for officer and public safety and contributed to national discussions in a cogent, conciliatory manner intending to make our country safer for all Americans.
  • The honoree has served our nation in some capacity where they distinguished themselves as an unwavering proponent of law and order.
