The FLEOA Foundation Scholarship Program
The FLEOA Foundation Scholarship Program is looking for eligible applicants. Listed below are the eligibility rules, requirements, and directions for the FLEOA Foundation Scholarship Program. Follow the directions below and fill out the application on the next page.
Who is Eligible?
The 2014 Class of High School graduates who are the children of current, retired or deceased members of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association.
How to Apply
High School graduates of the Class of 2014 are to submit the following items by email, that must be RECEIVED by June 27, 2014:
1. A completed and typed Scholarship Application.
2. Attach a copy of your 4 year high school transcripts grades, with class ranking, SAT or other aptitude test scores.
3. Attach a copy of letters that support your community service activity.
4. Attach a copy of acceptance from a college or university
How Winners are Selected
The FLEOA Foundation scholarship committee will independently review and rank each application. Scholarships will be awarded in the order of the highest cumulative ranking.
Criteria used for selection
Scholastic Ability: SAT/ACT scores and GPA.
Social Character: Community Service, Employment and Activities
Special consideration will be given to those applicants who are the children of federal law enforcement officers killed or disabled in the line of duty. Hardships may be identified and may receive special consideration at the discretion of the scholarship committee.
Type of Awards
The scholarship program will be limited to a one time grant of $500 or $1,000, awarded to 2014 high school graduates. Since 1993 the FLEOA Foundation has awarded scholarship assistance to 431 first year college students. In 2011 there were 49 individual grants totaling $32,000.
Submission of Scholarship Application
Applications must be received by June 27, 2014. Responses will be sent by August 1, 2014.
